Andy Towle reports on a gay rights march in Moscow held this weekend, which was marred by violence and a hostile police force. Much respect should go to these brave gay Russians (and a gay German politician) who displayed real courage for gay rights and paid a price for it.

This is so very different from how things were when I was coming out. There were no anti-fag groups, no organized, armed militants ready to stomp us. Who knew Russia would ever turn out like this? It seems they are far from being the sort of people we need to embrace.

I had a thought (amazing as it seems) this afternoon that God must have sent these assholes to Earth to help Man see what is good and what isn't, and which kinds of thinking need to be changed, or extinguished. Someone recently asked me how a loving God could possibly have created a (for example) Hitler.

Maybe to give Man the strength and incentive to defeat it?
